What is the difference between agile and scrum?
Agile is methodology which broadly defines the principles of software development. It has multiple frameworks which lists down the detailed process. Scrum is one of the many agile methodologies, which we discussed in the last question.
What is the difference between waterfall and agile?
The primary difference is in approach. Waterfall focuses on gathering and understanding the complete requirements before heading towards software development, while Agile focuses on discovering the requirements as we move forward. The waterfall is suitable for a simple system where the scope of requirement change is minimal, while agile is suitable for an iterative development in a complex environment where requirements are not clear.
What does a certified scrum master do?
A certified scrum master is a servant leader whose primary role is to ensure that the scrum principles are followed while developing the software, he/she facilitates meetings, ceremonies and work closely with various stakeholders to remove impediments for a smoother software development cycles. A Scrum master also coordinates between various team members and product owner.

How long does it take to become a certified Scrum Master?
It does not take much time. You need to go through a two days CSM workshop. Post-workshop there would be an online certification exam. The exam is on 60 minutes and consist of 35 objective type questions. The certificate is instantly available for download once you have completed and submitted the exam.
How much does it cost to become a scrum master?
The CSM Cost varies according to the location. In Indian cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad, Delhi, Pune and Chennai, etc, the cost is around INR 25000 Excluding the Tax. The above cost is including everything. The price varies between providers and the time when you are enrolling.
How much does a certified scrum master make?
A scrum master salary varies between 10-15 lakh depending on the experience. The salary varies according to the profile, employer, experience, and your negotiation skills. How do you become a scrum master?
When a scrum team is formed, someone from the team is chosen to play the role of a scrum master; there are no specific set of skills that you would need to perform this role. However, good facilitation and problem-solving skills make it easy for you to perform this role.
How do I renew my Scrum Master certification?
Once completed, the certified scrum master certification would be valid for two years starting on the day one of your certified scrum master class. You can renew the certification by paying the fee of USD 100 for another two years. Alternatively, if you go for the higher level of certificates like CSPO, CSP, etc., your CSM will be renewed automatically.
What is the Professional Scrum Master Certification?
It’s the name of certification provided by the home of scrum (Scrum.org), there are multiple levels of professional scrum master certification PSM I PSM II PSM III.
Is the scrum master a project manager?
No, there is no concept of project management in the scrum, the accountability for the delivery is decided at the team level. The responsibility to maintain the product backlog lies with the product owner; usual project management tasks like, task allocation, time reporting, reports, etc are handled at the team level. Scrum Does not promote extensive documentation.
